Skarsgård Is Your New Tarzan.
In reboot news, which seemed to have completely passed us by, Alexander Skarsgård of True Blood fame has been cast as Tarzan in a reboot of the franchise by Warner Bros.
The live-action movie which will also star Margot Robbie, Christoph Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson, is to be helmed by David Yates a director famous for his success with four Harry Potter movies. The plot of the latest Tarzan movie rattles along like so:
It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life in London as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane Porter (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
Principal photography for Tarzan started this June and ended this month. It’s appears the film is firmly on track for it scheduled release date of July 1, 2016.
