Is Ewan MacGregor Set For A Return To Star Wars?
As ever the internet rumour machine was close to blowing a gasket last week after it was suggested that there may be some character cross-overs from the God awful Star Wars prequel trilogy to the Gareth Edward’s new Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One movie.
One of the rumours centred on the return of actor Ewan McGregor in reprising his role of a young Obi-Wan Kenobi and as the storyline of Rogue One apparently takes place between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope many fans quickly assumed that this would nicely round off McGregor’s version of Kenobi passing on to the original character played by Alec Guinness all those years ago.
Of course there is no such evidence to prove that this is definitely happening but speaking to the press recently during his promotion of his latest film The Last Days In The Desert, McGregor had this to say:
“I’d be happy to do the story from episode three where I finish up and Alec Guinness started…”It’s not a fanatical thing, I’m really pleased I’m part of the legacy of it and happy to see it, and I’ve seen the trailer and it looks like they’ve absolutely nailed it”.
