Lisbeth Is Back In The Girl In The Spider’s Web
A few years ago it was announced that there would be a sequel to David Fincher’s 2011 movie adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Seven years since the original we finally have that sequel, but it comes with a brand new cast and a distinct feeling that this new movie is an attempt to reboot the franchise.
Recent Emmy award winner Claire Foy, (The Crown), takes over the main role of Lisbeth Slander, previously filled by Rooney Mara, as she gets tangled up in another conspiracy, this time involving her sister. Daniel Craig’s character from the original Mikael Blomkvist also gets a fresh change with Swedish actor Sverrir Gudnason filling his shoes and director David Fincher is also replaced with Fede Alverez, (Don’t Breathe), taking over the reins and continuing with the adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s acclaimed Millenium book trilogy.
As the trailer demonstrates it looks like The Girl in the Spider’s Web sets to continue the dark, disturbing tone Fincher set and is scheduled for release on November 9th.
