Top Gun 2 Will Be All About The Drones.

Hell, why not. It’s only been around 30 years since the original and let’s face it Tom Cruise hardly looks any older.

According to Jerry Bruckheimer Top Gun 2 is a reality and will be flying straight into your face in the next couple of years. Work on the sequel is currently underway and it’s been confirmed Cruise will indeed reprise his famous role as the hot-shot pilot Maverick. Speaking to the Huffington Post Bruckheimer raised the hopes of thousands of oiled up male volleyball players:

 “We’ve been trying to get that movie made for 30 years, and I think we’re getting closer and closer.Don (Simpson) and I tried to develop something, we didn’t succeed. (Tom) Cruise took over, and he tried to develop something, and he didn’t succeed. Now we’re back at it. 

The concept is, basically, are the pilots obsolete because of drones. Cruise is going to show them that they’re not obsolete. They’re here to stay.”

The only two obstacles facing the production right now are the budget and Tom Cruise’s busy schedule. If Paramount agree on the finances and Cruise manages to find a slot to film the movie then Top Gun 2 could be in cinemas in the next two years.

The big question remains, who will direct a cast of oiled up fifty-somethings?
