Following the critical and box office success of Gareth Evans’ sequel The Raid 2, currently on general release, the Welsh director has confirmed that his next film will be a prequel but he has no immediate plans to film it until he’s taken a well earned rest.
In a recent interview with the Irish Independent Evans revealed he’s already formulated an idea for a third Raid movie stating that it will indeed start as a prequel:
“The third one will be slightly different from the first two – very different actually. The idea is that part two started one or two hours after The Raid finished so it’s a continuation of the story. The Raid 3 will start one or two hours before The Raid 2 finishes, so we go back in time a little bit and branch off. So it’ll be something different but interesting.”
