Sigourney Weaver Talks About A Possible 5th Alien Movie.

All it takes nowadays is an actor, actress or director, who was once attached to a well known, successful movie from yesteryear, to open their cakehole during an interview and issue a throwaway line about the possibility of a sequel and the entertainment press start behaving like hyperactive, sugar loaded, schoolgirls.

Alien star Sigourney Weaver is the latest to fall foul of such bluster after she gave an interview with the LA Times and merely touched upon the possibility of a fifth film in the Alien franchise. Discussing her role as Ripley and how she felt a lot of loose ends concerning that character hadn’t been tied up, she said:

“Had we done a fifth one, I don’t doubt that her humanity would have prevailed. I do feel like there is more story to tell. I feel a longing from fans for the story to be finished,” she added, “I could imagine a situation where we finish telling the story.”

And so with those simple words the Internet is now on fire with the possibility of a fifth Alien movie complete with a Ripley return. Who knows if this will become a reality but it better be a damn sight better than the fourth movie.
