Powerpuff Girls To Get TV Reboot For 2016.
On the back of the possible casting news surrounding the Power Rangers reboot and sticking with nineties children’s television nostalgia, the kid’s channel the Cartoon Network have just announced the reboot of the much loved animated series The Powerpuff Girls.
Website comicbookmovie.com is reporting that Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup will return to the small screen in 2016 for more helpings of sugar, spice and Chemical X. It should really come as no surprise as the property when you consider just how big a money spinner the series was for the channel, clawing in profits over $2.5B through merchandising and licence rights.
No word yet on how The Powerpuff Girls will be remastered for today’s kids but I’m sure they’ll be just as popular as they were back in the nineties.
