Official website Ghostbustersnews.com recently uploaded a number of images from Paul Feig’s much anticipated modern take on the cult classic and they look to reveal a little more about the characters, who will be driving the plot of this movie forward.
As well as snaps of Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, in civilian dress we also now have a look at Chris Hemsworth, who plays the role of the secretary. This casting completes Feig’s sex reversal of roles throughout the movie.
It’s understood that Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts and Sigourney Weaver have all filmed cameos for the the remake and the plot of the movie was recently highlighted by the Boston Hearld:
[Kristen] Wiig and [Melissa] McCarthy play a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. Flash forward a few years and Wiig lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia U. Which is pretty sweet, until her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia.
Wiig reunites with McCarthy and the other two proton pack-packing phantom wranglers, and she gets some sweet revenge when ghosts invade Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.
The ghosts in question are believed to be dead criminals from every era, gangsters through to cowboys, which could be a lot of fun.
