Tom Cruise Confirmed For Mummy Reboot.

For some time now Universal has been keen to launch a Marvel/Star Wars style universe around their most cherished monster movie characters and now the first steps look like they’ll be taken in 2017, with a reboot of The Mummy.

A release date of June 9th has been scheduled and now a major Hollywood star, Tom Cruise, has confirmed he will lead up the cast with production expected to begin later this year once Cruise has finished with the filming of Mission: Impossible 6. The Mummy reboot will act as the gateway movie which will then be closely followed by further remakes including Dracula, The Bride Of Frankenstein, Van Helsing and The Invisible Man. 

It’s understood that the co-writer of Transformers and Star Trek Into Darkness,  Alex Kurtzman will direct The Mummy.
