Vin Diesel Announced Two More Furious Movies After Fast 8.
It seems that even with the tragic and sudden departure of a key player in the Fast and the Furious franchise, there is no stopping this cash juggernaut.
Actor Vin Diesel, recently revealed through his Instagram account, (see above), that there is not one but in fact three more Furious movies planned. The first, number 8 in the franchise, is scheduled for April 14th, 2017, the ninth will apparently be released on April 19th, 2019 and the tenth and quite possibly the final instalment has been slated for an April 2nd, 2021 release date.
Why three more movies? Well it would finish the franchise off with a big, fat, round 10 and Diesel has previously stated that Fast 8 would be the first of a trilogy of films within the franchise which honour the memory of the late Paul Walker. There’s also the small fact that the last Furious movie made over $1.5b at the box office. One and a half billion! Why would any producer or studio in their right mind stop the franchise at this point?
Plot details for Fast 8 are thin on the ground at this stage but we do know that it will have a New York setting and that F. Gary Gray, (Straight Outta Compton), will direct.
