Actor/film director Mel Gibson confirmed earlier this month that he was planning out how to bring a sequel to his hugely successful 2004 epic, biblical drama Passion Of The Christ, to the big screen.
Gibson revealed he is currently in talks to once again direct the follow-up which will this time deal with the resurrection of Chris,t as the initial movie had dealt with the last 12 hours of Christ’s life. Speaking during an interview with pastor Greg Laurie at the SoCal Harvest evangelical event in Anaheim, California, Gibson explained:
“That’s a very big subject, and it needs to be looked at, because we don’t want to just do a simple rendering of it. I mean, we can all read what happened, but in order to really experience and explore probably deeper meanings of what it’s about, it’s gonna take some doing.”
And why not develop a sequel to the Passion Of The Christ when the original movie took in more than $600m at the box office compared to a $30m budget.
