Teaser Trailer For Ghostbusters 3.
Whoa there Nelly!
We take a prolonged festive break from posting and first day back we have to try and get our heads around not just the news of a direct Ghostbusters 2 sequel, currently in production, but an official teaser trailer too?
Apparently Jason Reitman, son of late Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, has been busy beavering away on a script rumoured to be a direct sequel to Ghostbusters 2, which was released in 1989, and will have no connection to Paul Feig’s 2016 all-female Ghostbusters reboot.
In a recent interview with Variety, Jason revealed that this is something of a passion project, he said:
“I’ve always thought of myself as the first Ghostbusters fan, when I was a 6-year-old visiting the set. I wanted to make a movie for all the other fans,” Reitman told EW. “This is the next chapter in the original franchise. It is not a reboot. What happened in the ‘80s happened in the ‘80s, and this is set in the present day.”
But will Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson reprise their original roles for this sequel? According to website reports the film is to feature four teenagers who will pick up the Ghostbusting torch, so expect some sort of cameo appearances as the hand-over is officiated. Reitman explained:
“This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present. We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet…It will be a passing of the torch both inside and out.”
Judging from the official teaser trailer above this film will looks to be a foundation building movie to further the franchise for future generations. It’s only take them 30 years to get to this point.
