The Incredible Shrinking Man Is Headed For A Remake.

Before you shake your head in disbelief and write this news off as typical Hollywood barrel scraping, know that author Richard Matheson, (Duel, I Am Legend), will be adapting his book for the second time with help from his son Richard Matheson Jnr.

I’m all for this, primarily because the property is in the safe hands of the man who created the story back in 1956, who better to adapt a work of fiction than the very man who penned it. It’s understood the remake will retain the dark and serious nature of the book so there’s no danger of Hollywood using it as a comedy platform for one of it’s stars.

MGM have picked up the rights and will oversee the project, which Matheson Snr promises will be ‘an existential action movie’.
