For those of you anticipating a sequel to The Simpsons movie you might want to invest in a comfortable chair as there’s going to be a bit of a wait. Ten years to be exact.
The original movie was released in 2007 and netted a healthy profit in the form of a gross total of $527m, (minus a $75m budget), and you would think 20th Century Fox would be keen to get a sequel up and running, but it’s not that simple as creator Matt Groening recently explained:
“It took us four years to make the movie and it killed us, it stole animators from the show. But maybe in another 10 or 15 years.”
Oh, so it’s all about you is it Matt and the need for a little down time. Outrageous!
