Comic-Con Chatter On A Dredd Sequel.
Apparently actor Karl Urban was reported to have mentioned at this year’s Comic-Con that he’s met with screenwriter Alex Garland to discuss a possible direction for a future Dredd sequel.
You may recall that sales of the original movie on the International DVD charts have been nothing short of amazing, proving that there is in fact a willing audience for another Dredd movie, even though box office receipts proved it fell short of it’s budget.
This lifeline of information gives fans more hope and with what seems to be an active dialogue between Urban and Garland over possible ideas for a sequel the man in the helmet may make a welcome return to the big screen.
UPDATE: During a recent interview, following his appearance at Comic Con in San Diego, Karl Urban issued a message to fans of Dredd to get campaigning for a sequel, he said:
The more people that campaign for it, the more people that email, Twitter, write-in to Lionsgate saying ‘we want to see more of this,’ then the more likelihood we will get to see it; we’re certainly doing everything we can to make sure it happens.
You know what to do, citizens!
