Movie news website Shock Till You Drop is reporting that development is now officially under way for a sequel to the 2007/2009 under appreciated horror movie Trick ‘r Treat.
During a recent fan Q & A session with writer/director Michael Dougherty it was announced that work on a sequel is in development and Dougherty revealed that he’d love to do a series of the films and that the whole month of October should be filled with Halloween movies.
He explained: “There are different archetypes I’d like to explore, different types of monsters. We covered werewolves, vampires, and zombies, but there’s a whole slew of different creatures out there that we haven’t tackled, and I think Sam would probably be pretty good buddies with. So I think it’s time to let them have their time in the sun.”
The original movie was plagued with problems over it’s release which led to the film getting a straight to DVD ticket in 2009, a whole two years after it had been completed. Our fingers are firmly crossed for the prospect of a sequel.
