Jungle Book Remake Could Have Strong Female Cast.
Disney’s much anticipated remake of The Jungle Book could be adding two very strong female leads to its cast in the form of Scarlett Johansson, (The Avengers), and Lupita Nyong’o, (12 Years A Slave).
Both actresses are currently in talks to voice characters in Jon Favreau’s adaptation, Johansson is rumoured to be up for the part of Kaa, the hypnotic python and Nyong’o is to voice Raksha, the wolf who watches over Mowgli. One confirmed cast member for the film is Idris Elba, (Luther, Mandela), who will be the voice of the tiger Shere Khan.
This particular Disney remake won’t be animated but will instead be a mix of CGI and live-action and will be in direct competition with a Warner’s remake which is to be directed by Andy Serkis, (Lord Of The Rings, Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes).
Favreau’s The Jungle Book is scheduled for release in October 2015.
