Crazy Crossover Transformers/G.I. Joe Idea.

And by crazy idea, I mean shit idea.

Various sources throughout the entangled rumour forest of the Internet are currently speculating over recent comments made by Transformers: Age Of Extinction producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, (Name!), that the next horrendous installment of the’ robots in disguise’ franchise might veer into new waters altogether with a possible crossover with equally annoying property G.I. Joe.

 

But how on earth would this brave, revolutionary idea work? Well as Bonaventura explained during his interview with Total Film it’s early days yet:

 “I think later on that’s a possibility but I don’t think in the near future. It’s not something we talk about either. There’s a lot more story to be told in both cases…If at some moment we all think ‘You know what? It’s time to bring the two of them together’ we’ll do that, but I think they’re strong enough to exist on their own.”

Rumour has it it could be years away with both franchises filling out that time with yet more movies of their own because, you know…’there’s a lot more stories to be told in both cases’. As Hasbro own both properties this idea will almost certainly become a reality. Giant robots battling superhuman soldiers is something your kid comes up with in the sandpit. Next time your children are playing with their toys take notes, you might have the next Hollywood blockbuster franchise on your hands.
