Pacific Rim Uprising Trailer Asks If You’re ‘War Ready’.

Are you war ready? Sound out the klaxons and step into your overised, mechanical Power Ranger suit and prepare to do battle with knock-off Godzillas.

Here’s the first full trailer for Pacific Rim Uprising, (should have been Rim Harder), which has a plot that rattles along like so:

It has been ten years since the Battle of the Breach and the oceans are still, but restless. Vindicated by the victory at the Breach, the Jaeger program has evolved into the most powerful global defense force in human history. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of heroes when the Kaiju threat returns.Thrust into this is ex-jaeger pilot Jake Pentecost, son of the late Stacker Pentecost, who is given a chance by his adopted sister, Mako Mori, to unite with the world and fellow Jaeger pilots to prevent humanity’s extinction.

Uprising is directed by Stephen S. DeKnight, the man who created the Spartacus TV series and stars among others John Boyega and Scott Eastwood. It’s also produced by Guillermo Del Toro, who directed the original film.

Pacific Rim Uprising is scheduled for release on March 23rd, 2018.
