Cast Of New Ghostbusters Just Got A Little Stranger.

Man, you spend your entire time training as an actor only to end up typecast in triple A blockbuster sci-fi, fantasy, supernatural movies. The struggle is indeed real for plucky, young actor Finn Wolfhard whose previous credits include Stranger Things and IT and now he’ll also appear in the new Ghostbusters movie.

Apparently Wolfhard’s audition for Jason Reitman’s straight sequel to Ghostbusters 2 was so strong he gave the production team no other option but to offer him a leading part. His casting came as a bit of a surprise as Reitman had earlier stressed that he did not want to cast anyone from Stranger Things, given the similarities between the two properties.

It’s understood Ghostbusters 3 will focus on a single mother, played by Carrie Coon, (Fargo, Gone Girl), and her son who move back to their small home town where they learn more about who they are and the secrets of the town itself.

Reitman’s Ghostbusters sequel is scheduled for release on July 10th, 2020.
