Emilio Estevez Confirms Return For Mighty Ducks Spin-Off.

Mighty Ducks fans rejoice as Coach Gordon Bombay will be lacing up his skates once more for the Mighty Ducks spin-off series, currently in the works for Disney+.

In a recent statement actor Emilio Estevez explained why he’s reprising the role, he said:

“Once a Duck, always a Duck! After 25 years, I am delighted to lace up my skates, put on Coach Bombay’s jacket and return to play the iconic character for this new chapter in ‘The Mighty Ducks’ franchise.”

The plot of the spin-off is based in present-day Minnesota where the Mighty Ducks have evolved into a ruthless, winning, ultra-competitive team. After one of their key players, 12 year-old Evan Noon, is dumped form the squad he embarks on a journey to forming an alternative ice hockey team with the help of Coach Bombay to take the Ducks down.

As well as the return of Estevez the spin-off series will be co-created and produced by Steve Brill, the creator of the 90s original property. Filming begins later this month in Canada and is expected to stream on Disney+ later this year.
